Boston Theatre Works proudly presents
A Midsummer Night's Dream.

November 16 , 2006

Shakespeare’s magical comedy stars Paula Plum as Oberon, Timothy John Smith as Titania and Robert Pemberton as Bottom at the BCA Plaza Theatre, February 1 – March 3, 2007

[BOSTON, MA] Boston Theatre Works continues its ninth season with a stellar cast of eight, including Elliot Norton Award-winners Robert Pemberton (Outstanding Actor, 2002) and Paula Plum (Outstanding Actress, 1995; Sustained Excellence, 2004). The BTW production plays for five weeks at the Boston Center for the Arts beginning on Thursday, February 1st. BTW is pleased to welcome back director Daniel Elihu Kramer (Romeo and Juliet, 1999) to helm the production.

Shakespeare’s lyrical, lighthearted romantic comedy follows lovers Hermia and Lysander, who defy father and king to elope. Meanwhile, Bottom the Weaver and his troupe of would-be actors venture into the woods to rehearse a play. But once inside the fairy realm of warring Queen Titania and King Oberon, fantasy and reality reverse. Oberon’s trickery, aided by his roguish sprite Puck, ensnares lovers and laborers alike. The BTW production will be a sexy romp through the forest with characters doubling and tripling into various identities and genders and with Paula Pulm taking on the powerful role of the Fairy King opposite Timothy John Smith’s Queen.
